Meteomatics is proud to announce the launch of its Norwegian office. The company has appointed Arve Dahl Nielsen, a former executive at StormGeo, as the CEO of its newly formed division.

A Multi-million Euro Undertaking in Norway

In collaboration with the Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE), Meteomatics is embarking on a multi-million euro project in Norway. By the end of 2025, Meteomatics will deploy a network of 30 Meteodrones and Meteobases across the country.

This initiative is part of Norway’s strategic efforts to future-proof its economy, safeguard its citizens, and enhance infrastructure resilience against various weather-related challenges. The installation of the Meteobases, which will store and launch the drones, is set to start this summer.

A Norwegian Office Is the Next Logical Step

To support this substantial undertaking and expand in the Scandinavian market, establishing a physical presence in Norway is essential. The new office in Oslo will facilitate the implementation of the network of Meteodrones and Meteobases, grow the customer base in the region, focusing on renewable energy, and provide local support and services to customers.

Dr. Martin Fengler, Founder and CEO of Meteomatics, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “These are exciting times for Meteomatics. The collaboration with NORCE and the opening of the office in Norway will facilitate our expansion into Scandinavia and enhance the support we can provide to the region’s industries.”

Arve Dahl Nielsen as Local CEO

To oversee the Oslo office, Meteomatics has appointed Arve Dahl Nielsen, CRO at the Meteomatics Group, as CEO of the Oslo office.

Arve brings over 20 years of experience in leading global commercial operations and driving growth and innovation across the renewable energy, infrastructure, media, and weather sectors.

Over the past eight years at StormGeo, Arve has leveraged his extensive expertise in the energy and weather sectors, positioning him to make a significant impact at Meteomatics.

Alongside Arve, Meteomatics is pleased to welcome Arjen Piest to the Oslo office. Arjen is joining as a sales manager to support our aviation business expansion. Plans are underway to grow the office with more Norway-based colleagues soon.
