From Extensive Observations to Seamless Integration: The Most Complete Weather Data System

Meteomatics's mission is to provide the most accurate weather data for any location at any time.

Traditional weather observation, modeling, and data integration systems fall short of this mission.

That's why we developed a unique method for measuring the atmosphere, modeling, and delivering weather forecasts with unparalleled quality.

Weather Data Observations

  • Traditional observations: We integrate global data from weather stations, radar, radiosondes, buoys, aircraft, lightning sensors, and satellites.
  • Unique Meteodrone observations: Additionally, in certain regions, we integrate local data from our proprietary Meteodrones, a game changer in weather data measurement. Flying up to 6 km, they collect extensive atmospheric data from the Earth's boundary layer, providing unparalleled information about the current state of the atmosphere.

High-Resolution Weather Forecast Modeling

  • Global and local weather models: We use numerical and AI-based weather models, automatically selecting the most accurate one for each query to ensure optimal results.
  • Unique 1k models: Additionally, we have developed proprietary high-resolution weather models with an unparalleled 1-kilometer resolution. When Meteodrone data is integrated into these 1k models, the resulting forecasts achieve unprecedented accuracy.

Data Fine-Tuning

  • Downscaling: Our system automatically refines weather model outputs using a 90-meter downscaling technique to adjust values based landscape conditions, such as terrain elevation.
  • Calibration: Users can further calibrate results with the latest observations from nearby weather stations.

Data Delivery and Integration

  • Unified Access: Obtaining comprehensive weather data often involves dealing with multiple providers, which can be both time-consuming and costly. Meteomatics simplifies this process by offering all necessary weather data and forecasts through a single API.
  • Seamless integration: Our API supports a wide variety of data connectors, ensuring that the data can be effortlessly integrated into your own systems. This guarantees a smooth and efficient workflow, saving you time and resources.

Unique Data Collection From Multiple Global Sources, Including Meteodrones

Meteodrones are weather drones developed by Meteomatics in St. Gallen, Switzerland. They can fly up to 6 km measuring atmospheric parameters thereby closing the data gap in weather data from the lower layers of the atmosphere.
