Custom GeoJSON
Custom GeoJSONs (routes, areas, oil rigs, store locations etc.) can be added in MetX. To do so, click on Layer Stack, select "Add Layer" and "Custom GeoJSON" in the "Mode" section. Select a pre-uploaded file and click "Apply".
A ”Custom GeoJSON” layer is added to the Layer Stack, where the user can change the file, opacity, color, line width, and add parameters.
The Custom GeoJSON added to your dashboard can now be shared with other MetX users by simply sharing the dashboard
Threshold Options
Within the Layer Stack the you have the option to color the GeoJSON according to certain thresholds for a specific parameter. In the example below, all the areas with a higher temperature than 6 degrees get colored in red, whereas the areas below stay in the chosen green color which is set as the base of the GeoJSON layer.
GeoJSONs have multiple coloring options to choose from originating from different aggregation methods such as Maximum, Minimum, Mean, Median, and Mode.
Advanced Thresholds
With MetX’s new Advanced Thresholds, the user can define interdependent thresholds to track complex weather patterns and their impact. This added flexibility enables the user to anticipate and respond proactively to critical weather events.
These advanced thresholds are currently available for areas and lines (GeoJSON), this feature allows you to determine where specific conditions occur. Examples include:
Temperature fluctuations: A sudden drop followed by a rise can affect infrastructure, agriculture, or energy demand.
Precipitation trends: Heavy rain followed by freezing temperatures may lead to icy roads and hazardous conditions.
Wind variations: Sudden gusts after calm conditions can pose risks for aviation or maritime operations.
