Tropical Cyclones

Tropical Cyclone (TC) tracks can be visualized in MetX. To do so, click on Layer Stack , select ”Add Layer” and ”Tropical Cyclone” in the ”Mode” section.

Selecting this layer enables a dropdown menu where the user can select the TC. Please note that TCs in early stages are referred to as tropical disturbances and therefore do not have a name yet. Instead, they get a different naming scheme involving a 2-digit number followed by a letter, e.g. ”70A”. Select a TC from the dropdown list and click ”Apply”.

A ”Tropical Cyclone” layer is added to the Layer Stack, where the user can either select another TC or change the line color, width, and opacity.
